History

Maranatha Bible Church was founded on September 24, 1995, when 465 people first met for worship at Springfield High School. From its beginning, the church has been purpose-driven, focusing on worship, evangelism, discipleship, service, and fellowship. From the start, Maranatha Bible Church has been a growing church … from 465 to over 1,600 in attendance. The focus of the church’s leaders, however, has not been on growth in numbers, but on the spiritual health of the church.

The property where Maranatha stands was purchased in 1997. In August 2002, ground was broken and on Sunday, February 8, 2004, the work became a reality with the first worship service being held in the new building.

In 2005, Maranatha sent out the first of five churches that have been planted locally.

Church Plants

In 2011, the church building was expanded. We added more classrooms and an office for the church staff. A Family Life Center and kitchen were also added. The Family Life Center now hosts one of the three worship services each Sunday morning.

In 2015, we expanded our adult wing to create more classrooms and an additional restroom for Sunday morning ABFs. For our Middle School and High School ministries we added two large rooms which are fully furnished and equipped with kitchenettes.
